BIPAF 2017 to be Held From May 19 to 28 at Busan Cinema Center and Other Venues in Busan

Busan International Performing Arts Festival 

The 14th Busan International Performing Arts Festival (BIPAF) will be held over 10 days from May 19 to May 28 at the Busan Cinema Center, Sohyang Theater, KNN Theater and Gwangalli.

 

Under the theme of “Play, Ocean, Festival,” a total of 50 plays, including seven special guest plays from six countries, including Mexico, Greece, Japan, USA, Colombia and Korea will be performed. The event is hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and organized by the BIPAF organizing committee showcasing outstanding plays from around the world.

 

The BIPAF will begin with the opening ceremony on May 19 at 7:30PM at the Busan Cinema Center. “Family on the Road” (Theatre Troupe Georipae) from Korea and “The Tree of Oedipus” (IDEA) from Greece have been selected as the opening and closing performances respectively.

The BIPAF 2017 features a variety of programs, including 7 plays from six countries, dynamic street performances (11 street plays will take place at Gwangalli Beach), celebratory performance, 10 Minute Open Plays and more.
