The

The 7.9 kilometer extended Dadae section from Shinpyeong Station to Dadaepo Beach Station on Metro Line 1 was completed in December 2016. The project’s basic plan was approved in June 2008 and broke ground in November 2009. The corporation finished three months of testing, safety checks and inspection from December 16, 2016 to March 17, 2017, including operation and service checks, as well as completed its inspection of the facilities, including the control, signal and communication facilities.
The final approval for the official operation of the Dadae section was passed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority.
With the opening of the Dadae section, the Busan metro has 40 metro stations and its route length is 40.48 kilometer. All metro stations have platform screen doors, elevators, escalators, disabled access and facilities. In addition, new smart trains have been introduced, and fire detectors and sprinklers were installed to prevent fire hazards.
The world’s first LTE-R railway communication system was deployed to enhance the safety and convenience of railway services on metro lines in Busan.
