The 34th
Busan International Short Film Festival announced the 'International
Competition' and 'Korean Competition' finalists, consisting of 60 films (37
films from 29 countries in the International Competition and 23 films in the
Korean Competition).
The
festival received the largest number of submissions in its history with 4,447
films from 126 countries for the International Competition and 870 films for
the Korean Competition. It shows the heightened interest in short films these
days.
The films
in the international competition cover various issues, especially relating to
refugees and the aged. Animated films, combining technology and art, have a strong
presence at this year’s festival.
The 34th
Busan International Short Film Festival is scheduled to be held from April 25
to 30, 2017 at the Busan Cinema Center.
