The
Consulate of Mongolia in Busan has moved to a larger facility in Haeundae from
Beomcheon-dong in Busanjin-gu due to the recent increase in cooperative
exchanges between Busan and Mongolia.
The
Mongolian consulate first opened in Busanjin-gu, in Febuary of last year. Busan
City has increased friendly cooperation with Mongolia in various areas since
its opening. Ulaanbaatar-Busan direct flights were launched by Air Busan last
June and Busan Mayor Suh Byung-soo visited Ulaanbaatar and established a
friendship city relationship with Ulaanbaatar last August. In January 2017, Secretary
General of Mongolian People’s Party J.Munkhbat and governors of the 21 aimags
(provinces) of Mongolia visited Busan.
The
Mongolian Consulate is relocated to the 5th floor of the Haechun
Building, 11, Haeun-daero 774beon-gil, Haeundae-gu (near Jangsan Metro Station)
and is open from Monday through Friday, 10 am to 4 pm.
The
consulate issues Mongolian visas and promotes cooperation with Busan. It has
jurisdiction over Busan, Ulsan, Daegu, Gyeongsangnam-do, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and
Jeollanam-do.
It
is the 5th consulate to be established in Busan after Japan, Russia, the
People's Republic of China, and the United States.
