Busan
National Gugak Center will offer “Hello, Gugak”, Gugak Class for foreigners for
12 weeks every Saturday from September 3 to November 19.
Korean
traditional dance class will be offered in English and Korean. The class
participants will present the dance performance on stage on November 19, 2016,
the final day of the class.
This
program has been running once a year since 2014 to promote traditional Korean
music overseas and 340 foreigners have taken the classes. This year’s Gayageum
class was successfully completed during the first half of the year with 10
foreign participants from Russia, China, Mexico, Poland, the Philippines and
Bahamas. To cope with increasing demand for another class for foreign
residents, Busan National Gugak Center launched another Gugak class this year.
The
beginner’s class is available for 20 foreigners who are interested in Gukak.
The class fee is 70,000 won.
