Global Gaming Exhibition G-Star 2016 (All-round
Game & Trade Show) takes place from November 17 – 20, 2016 at BEXCO and
Busan Cinema Center, Haeundae. The event is hosted by the Korea Internet
Digital Entertainment Association (K-iDEA), organized by the G-Star organizing
committee and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, and supported by the
Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency.
Busan has been holding G-Star, Korea’s largest global
gaming exhibition, as an annual event at BEXCO since 2009, although the show
was launched in 2005 in Gyeonggi-do.
Under the theme of the “Play To The Next Step”,
2,719 booths from 653 game-related firms from 35 countries are participating in
the show, making it the largest ever in its history. A variety of programs are
scheduled to be held, including game awards, a game investment market, an
e-sports contest, business consultations, conferences and a game industry job
fair.
Visitors can experience Virtual Reality (VR)
and Augmented Reality (AR) games at the event. This year’s event will be
globally aired live through the video streaming platform service Twitch. The
live broadcast stream will be provided in English, connecting Korea and the
global game markets to this year’s G-Star.
