Taejongdae,
Gamcheon Culture Village, Gukje Market∙Bupyeong Market and the Original
Downtown Story Tour have been selected and included on the list of the “100
Must Visit Places in Korea.”
The
Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and
Tourism (MCST) announced the list on January 9, 2017.
Taejongdae,
where visitors can enjoy walking along the magnificent views of the ocean and
cliffs has been selected three times in a row since 2013. The success of the
village art project of Gamcheon Village has been attracting a large number of
visitors and has been selected twice in a row since 2015. Gukje Market,
Bupyeong Market and the original downtown story tour are listed for the first
time.
To
select the “100 Must Visit Places in Korea,” the KTO and MCST conducted tourist
destination awareness and satisfaction surveys among Korean and foreign
tourists, analyzed Big Data from telecommunications companies, social media and
navigation, tourism statistics, and on-site evaluations
The
“100 Must Visit Places in Korea” includes 25 places in the Gyeongsang area, 24
places in the capital area, 17 places in the Jeolla area, 12 places in the
Gwangwon area, 10 places in the Chungcheong area and 12 spots in Jeju.
