For
the first time in Busan, a mackerel restaurant and promotional zone has opened
on the 3rd floor of the Samjung Giants Park Building across from the
Sajik Baseball Stadium on December 1, 2016.
Seonmang
Suhyup, a fisheries cooperative that catches up to 80 percent of mackerel in
Korea, opened it to promote mackerel consumption to the public and the mackerel
promotional zone inside of the restaurant was opened to promote mackerel as a
city fish.
The
Korean title of the restaurant is “한 어부의 고등어 사랑” meaning
“A Fisher’s Mackerel Love”.
Korea’s
favorite fish, the mackerel, will be a part of all the main dishes at the new
restaurant.
The
main cuisines of the restaurant include godeungeo gui jeongsik (set menu of
grilled mackerel), godeungeo jorim (stewed mackerel) and ssambap jeongsik (set
menu with vegetable wraps and rice), godeunge chueotang (mackerel stew with
vegetables), godeungeo hwareo hoe (sliced raw mackerel), and mackerel cutlet
for kids. The restaurant also sells processed mackerel food items.
A 270 square meter restaurant, including three rooms for 8 people, will accommodate up to 104 people.
