2017 Call for Entries to the 34th Busan International Short Film Festival

The 34th Busan International Short Film Festival (BISFF) is calling for film entries through January 10th, 2017 for the international competition and through January 20, 2017 for the Korean competition.

 

Launching in 1980 as the Korea Short Film Festival, BISFF is the first short film festival in Korea and has continuously expanded its scale worldwide. 2017 BISFF is scheduled to be held from April 25th to May 1st, 2017.

 

BISFF films that have been awarded in competition have been introduced at overseas short film festivals related to the BISFF honor nation program.  “Mirror in Mind” directed by Kim Seung-hee and “Bargain” directed by Lee Choon-hyun were screened at the Uppsala International Short Film Festival 2015 in Sweden and at the Toronto International Film Festival 2016 respectively. “Seol-hee” directed by Bae Yeon-hee was awarded at the China-Korea international micro film festival in Weihai, China in 2016.  Special Screenings of the BISFF awarded films was held at the Kalpanirjar International Short Fiction Film Festival 2015 in India and scheduled to be held at the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival 2016 in Indonesia. BISFF has carried out its role as an overseas expansion platform for Korean short films.
