A
Busan-Shanghai Special Exhibition will be held from September 1 to September
17, at F1963 (KISWIRE Suyeong Factory), the same location where Busan Biennale
2016 was successfully held, during the Busan International Architectural
Culture Festival (BIACF) 2017.
The
BIACF has been held every other year since 2001 and the event consists of
exhibitions, citizen participation programs and symposiums. This year’s
festival will introduce the City of Shanghai, its history and architecture
relative to Busan, under the theme of ‘Living in Shanghai, Living in Busan’.
Special
exhibitions including “Walking Barcelona with Gaudi” in 2013 and “Chicago and
Busan, Present and Past” in 2015 have been held during previous BIACF events.
Shanghai
has been developed into a world class, modern city through the establishment of
former French and British concessions and urban construction by global powers.
Shanghai and Busan were contemporarily formed as international cities and have
much in common.
A
variety of programs including exhibitions, world symposiums and other events,
with a team led by Dr. Xiangning Li of Tongji University in Shanghai, are
scheduled to be held.
Busan
City is invited to Shanghai Urban Space Art Season 2017 to be held in September
in Shanghai, China, along with London, United Kingdom; Hamburg, Germany and
Barcelona, Spain. It is expected to help promote Busan City during the event in
Shanghai.
