Busan City Establishes an Agreement with IKEA to Open a Store at OSIRIA Tourist Complex

Busan City and Busan Metropolitan Corporation held an agreement ceremony with the Swedish-based home furniture giant IKEA on February 21st at Busan City Hall to establish a local branch in Busan that will be opened in the OSIRIA Tourist Complex
The main contents of the agreement include:
▻ IKEA establishes a local branch in Busan and will open its store in the OSIRIA Tourist Complex
▻ Utilize Busan Bank as its financial transaction partner
▻ Hire about 500 local citizens
▻ Provide an opportunity to local companies for local procurement and outsourcing and seek ways to build win-win cooperation with Busan’s commercial and industry sector
The establishment of a local branch at the agreement ceremony is a meaningful achievement for the City.
The opening of the IKEA shopping mall at the end of 2019 is expected to invigorate tourism at OSIRIA Tourist Complex along with the opening of a theme park around the same time period.
