2017 Winter Travel Season Events Attract Tourists to Busan

Busan City is holding the “2017 Winter Travel Season Program – Morak Morak Busan Winter Story”, where tourists can enjoy eateries at traditional markets and hot springs in Busan, from January 14 to January 30.

 

The tour program is hosted by Busan Metropolitan City, the Busan Tourism Organization, Korea Tourism Organization and Busan Tourism Association.

Morak Morak Busan Winter Story

Period: January 14 – 30, 2017

Venue: six traditional markets and Haeundae hot spring in Busan

Winter Travel Season Main Programs

1.    Stamp Tour

Visitors can collect stamps at the six traditional markets in Busan, including Gijang market, Seomyeon market, Jagalchi market, Bupyeong market, Gukje market and Haeundae market. First, the stamp tour participants can pick up the stamp tour map at the information booth located at Busan Station square and use shuttle buses to get to the venues.   

 

Those who collect six different stamps can get a free gift at the information booth at Busan Station square.

    

Period: January 14 – 26, 2017

Venue: six traditional markets in Busan (Gijang Market, Seomyeon Market, Jagalchi Market, Bupyeong Market and Gukje Market, Haeundae Market)

 

Stamp Tour Shuttle Bus

Busan Station – Haeundae Beach – Gijang Market – Haeundae – Busan Station (3 times a day)

Busan Station – Bupyeong/Gukje Market – Jagalchi Market – Busan Station – Seomyeon Market – Busan Station (4 times a day)

 

Eateries at participating traditional market

Gijang Market: snow crab

Seomyeon Market: dwaeji gukbap (pork and rice soup)

Jagalchi Market: seafood

Bupyeong Market: Eomuk, yubu jumeoni (Pocket-shaped fried tofu)

Gukje Market: Ssiat Hotteok, bibim dangmyeon (spicy glass noodles)

Haeundae Market: kkomjangeo (hagfish)

 

2. Enjoy the Winter Sea and Hot Springs

Period: January 14 – 26, 2017, 11:00a.m. – 4:00p.m. (Closed Mondays)

Venue: Haeundae hot spring footbath at Haeundae-gu office

 

Visitors can place their feet into the warm spring water and relax at the Haeundae hot spring footbath located at Haeundae-gu office. They can also have a fun experience with “Dr. fish” in the footbath. It is a free public footbath to all. The stamp tour participants will receive a towel as a gift from January 14 to 26. The footbath will be closed every Monday.

The winter travel season information booth will be located at Busan station square.
