A total of 18,063 works from 61 countries were submitted during AD STARS 2016 Busan International Advertising Festival.

The entry deadline for the 9th AD Stars Awards was June 15, 2016.

13,469 entries from overseas and 4,594 entries from Korea were received. The entries from foreign countries are significantly high.

The highest number of entries by continent was 14,687 from Asia then 1,252 from America, 779 from Europe, 752 from Oceania and followed by 593 from Africa.

Print (3,072 entries) was the most popular category entered among the 22 categories. Last year’s most popular category, Outdoor (2,901 entries) was the second most popular category this year.

The Public Service Advertisement category with 1,061 entries showed a considerable increase from last year’s 696 entries.  This has been the result of continued emphasis on the importance of public service advertisements by the festival since the festival first launched. The Grand Prize for the PSA will be awarded 10,000 USD.

Along with entries by professionals working in the advertising, design, digital and production industries, 3,858 works from non-professionals were submitted to make the festival enjoyable for anyone.

215 judges from 74 countries selected this year’s finalists, which were announced on the AD STARS website at http://www.adstars.org/ in July. Those finalists will compete for the Grand Prize in the upcoming AD STARS final competition during August 25-27.

AD STARS 2016 Busan International Advertising Festival will be held from August 25 to 27 at BEXCO and Haeundae area. The works of the finalists for AD STARS 2016 by category will be displayed and awarded during the festival.
