The New York Times (NYT) featured Busan as one of 52 places to go in 2017 on its website http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/travel/places-to-visit.html?_r=0 Busan is listed as 48th and the only city in the ROK.
The article
in the NYT highlights Busan’s urban regeneration project and wrote of Busan as,
“An underrated second city becomes a design hot spot.” It continues its praise,
“Busan
is known as a film town, but the city’s independent design scene is taking off,
too.” In particular, it highlighted the Jeonpo Café District.
The
article introduced the creatively transformed Jeonpo Cafe District, Brown Hands
Café and other design hot spots in Busan.
NYT’s 52 places to go in 2017 were selected by
recommendations from regular subscribers of the NYT’s tourism section and
evaluations were made by NYT’s editors.
America’s northern neighbor of Canada is listed as the first place, followed by the Atacama Desert in Chile as the 2nd. Nine Asian cities, including Agra in India, Osaka in Japan and Sanya in China were named in the list.
