Busan-based foreign volunteers held a “Food of Love” event for orphans.
About twenty foreigners composed of students, immigrants and employees from China, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines and Bangladesh visited Jongdeokwon, a welfare facility in Yeonsan 9-dong, Yeonje-gu on 22 December.
The volunteers from several countries cooked their own traditional foods with the children.
They made Chinese “Mapa Tofu” and “Ttisanshien,” Indonesian “Soto Ayam” and Japanese “Okonomiyaki,” enjoying themselves by cooking and eating exotic foods.
An official from the Busan Foundation for International Activities, which organized the event, said that it would provide foreigners with many opportunities to do various volunteering activities for the benefit of the local community.
