Busan City has revealed a blueprint of the much anticipated Busan Opera House, which will become a new cultural icon for Busan City upon its completion.
The winning entry of the Busan Opera House International Design Competition was submitted by Norwegian design firm Snøhetta.The new Busan Opera House will be located in the Busan North Port Development area and will be very accessible, with a democratic use of space. It will even be possible for the public to access the large roof, where outdoor performances will be possible.
A total of ten entries have been submitted to the competition.
The new Busan Opera House will be located in the maritime culture district of the Busan North Port Development area and will house an auditorium with a seating capacity of 1,800, designed exclusively for operatic performances.
