Free Kayak Experience Center to Open in the Gwangalli Beach Area

Busan Citizens can now enjoy kayaking for free!

 

The Busan Regional Maritime Affairs & Port Administration Office announced that it will open a free Kayak Experience Center in the Gwangalli Beach area on September 14, 2013. 

 

The center will be equipped with 100 kayaks and four boats. Up to 600 people daily and 35,000 people annually will be able to go kayaking for free.  The Sea Explorers of Korea Busan Council will operate the kayak center. You can register online for a free kayaking experience at http://oleports.or.kr/ (in Korean) starting from September 16, 2013. Those interested can also enjoy free kayaking at the Busan Yachting Center from May to October. 

 

The Busan Regional Maritime Affairs & Port Administration Office also plans to add additional centers in Haeundae and Songdo.

 

The 2013 Busan Regional Maritime Affairs & Port Administration Director’s Cup Kayak Competition will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 from noon to 5:20 p.m. at the Gwangalli Ocean Leports Center. To register for the competition, please call the Se a Explorers of Korea Busan Council at (051)743-5589. The registration fee is 15,000 won and includes a snack, t-shirt and towel.
