Preparations for construction of buildings of over 100 stories in Busan going well.

Preparations for the construction of super-tall skyscrapers in Busan, including the 108-story Busan World Business Center or WBCB, the 107-story Busan Lotte World, and the 117-story Haeundae Tourist Resort have started smoothly. When these high-rise buildings are completed, Busan will be the first city in the world with three buildings over 100 stories.

 

The World Business Center (WBCB) which will be built in the Centum City district of Haeundae is to acquire its building permit within this month and construction will start next May. This project is being financed with 1 trillion won and is to be completed in 2013. The tower will house office, commercial and tourist leisure facilities.

 

The 107-story main building of Busan Lotte Tower (510 meters) which will be built on the former site of Busan City Hall in Jungang-dong, Jung district, is to start construction this year. The project is being financed with 1.5 trillion won. Busan Lotte Tower will house a luxury hotel, a department store, a leisure complex and intelligently furnished offices. Lotte plans to complete the department store and leisure complex in 2009, and the hotel in 2013.

 

The Haeundae Tourist Resort Complex (511 meters), will be built in between the KRCM and the former site of Geukdong Hotel in Jung-1-dong, Haeundae district. Land compensation and design process will be completed within this year and construction will start at the end of next year. The project is being financed with1.5 trillion won.

 

The building will be completed in 2013 and will include a hotel with accommodation and conference facilities, a convention center, condominiums, a four-season tourist facility with a water park, a dolphin show and a hot springs center.
