The 2010 South Africa FIFA World Cup street cheering zones will be spread across the city, and will include Busan’s Asiad Main Stadium, the site of the Korean team’s first victory in the 2002 Korea-Japan FIFA World Cup.
The schedule for street cheering and watching the Korean team games at the 2010 South Africa World Cup is as follows:
June 12, 8:30 PM Korea vs. Greece
Cheering Event Venue: Asiad Main Stadium, Haeundae Beach, Lotte Department Store in Gwangbok-dong, Busan Station, Oncheoncheon near Pusan National University subway station, Spo1 Park, Taejongdae, City Spot in Jung-gu
June 17, 8:30 PM Korea vs. Argentina
Cheering Event Venue: Asiad Main Stadium, Haeundae Beach, Oncheoncheon near Pusan National University subway station, Spo1 Park
June 23, 3:30 AM Korea vs. Nigeria
Cheering Event Venue: Haeundae Beach
An official of Busan City said, “We hope that citizens will participate in and enjoy the cheering event, hosted by KNN, BR Corporation, Lotte Department Store and Spo1 Park, to support the Korean national team at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.”
