Haeundae, Gwangalli, and Songjeong beaches will officially open on June 1st through September 30th. The official beach season will therefore be two months longer than in previous years. Four other beaches – Songjeong, Dadaepo, Imnang and Ilgwang beaches– will be open for swimming for the usual two month period between July 1 until August 31.
The City is extending its beach opening period to encourage the use of beaches in Busan year-round. Swimming will be permitted in the Spring and Fall. Winter events such as the “Polar Bear Swim” and the New Year Festival will also take place at the beaches, as usual.
For the safety of swimmers, the swimming area at Haeundae, Gwangalli and Songdo beaches will be limited during June and September. However, all other public convenience facilities including beach parasols, changing rooms, showers, foot washers, drinking water fountains, and public restrooms will be open to the public.
For the enjoyment of beach-goers, unique performances, festivals and marine sports activities will be available in abundance at Haeundae, Gwangalli and Songdo beaches.
