Starting May 21, the discounted fare system for transfers between local buses and metros will be expanded to Gimhae and Yangsan.
Therefore, those who travel in or between the three cities on public transport (local buses, village/neighborhood buses, and the metro) using their transportation card can now enjoy significant transfer discounts. Transfers still have to be made within 30 minutes (or 60 minutes for buses operating infrequently at intervals of greater than 30 minutes) of alighting from the previous one. When the first transfer between two different cities is made, an additional fare of 500 won for adults, 260 won for youths and 100 won for children will be charged, then 200 won will be charged for a second transfer to continue the journey into a third city.
The transfer discount will also be applied to the Busan–Gimhae Light Rail Transit, when it opens.
The following table shows how much passengers will be able to save by using the public transportation transfer discount system when traveling through the three cities.
