3rd Busan Maru International Music Festival to be held from September 11-15.

The 3rd Busan Maru International Music Festival, hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and organized by Busan Maru International Music Festival Organizing Committee, will be held from September 11-15 at Busan Cultural Center, Eulsukdo Cultural Center, and Busan Cinema Center. Prior to the main event, fringe concerts are scheduled to be held over two weekends, on September 1, 2, 8 and 9 all around the City including metro stations, the Provisional Capital Memorial Hall, Busan Museum, Busan Modern History Museum, Busan Art Center, Gwangalli Beach and other venues. 


Busan Maru International Music Festival is Busan’s very first annual classic music festival. It was started in 2010, supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Busan Metropolitan City. The festival aims to promote citizens’ participation in forming a community spirit through music and to enhance the city’s status as an international marine cultural city by growing the festival into an internationally recognized music festival.


Under the theme of “Europe, The Glorious Heritage”, classical music by some of the great European composers is scheduled to be performed by musicians from the United States, France, the Czech Republic, Sweden and the Republic of Korea and orchestras performing in Europe.

Czech English Delight
Friday, September 14, 2012 at 7:30pm, Busan Cultural Center

Finale Concert: Musical Troika

*‘Maru’ means the summit of a mountain or a roof in Korean, so the name of the festival implies its goal to become the best symphony festival in the nation, attracting the world’s top musicians.
