Busan U-City Project wins global recognition with First Prize in Smart City competition

Busan Metropolitan City won the '2012 Arete Award' for city development, at the 'Torino Smart Festival', which took place in Turin, Italy, in May. The 'Torino Smart Festival' awards outstanding innovation in the industrial & public sector, while also holding seminars to improve city environments.
Busan Metropolitan City received the award for its outstanding city innovation work, in grafting ubiquitous technology onto established businesses in eight different sectors, including port, tourism, crime prevention, and so on. Busan plans to keep moving this project forward by introducing ubiquitous systems to the city's administrative process, to improve work efficiency and quality of service.
