The National Maritime Museum, established at Dongsam Innovation District, Yeongdo-gu, will officially open on July 9, 2012.
The National Maritime Museum broke ground on December 31, 2009 and was completed on April 30, 2012.

○ Land Area: 45,444 square meters, Floor Area: 25,803 square meters (4-story building with one underground level)

Exhibition Facilities - 8 permanent exhibition halls and 1 special exhibition hall
○ 1st Floor: Storage room, Office, Auditorium, Maritime Library
○ 2nd Floor: Special Exhibition Hall, Children’s Museum
○ 3rd Floor: 5 Permanent Exhibition Halls covering maritime literature, history, people and vessels
○ 4th Floor: 3 Permanent Exhibition Halls covering marine science, industry and territories
12,069 artifacts have been purchased or donated.
