The U.S. will finally reopen its consulate Korea's second largest city of Busan next year. U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice agreed to the move in a meeting with Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon in Kuala Lumpur.
The first U.S. consulate in Busan was closed in 1996, forcing residents there and around the southern region to go to Seoul to get U.S. entry visas. The consulate will handle matters like visa issuance and protection of American citizens. The source of news : Arirang News July.31,2006 |
