The world's largest container vessel called at Busan Port on June 27. The vessel, the "Xin Los Angeles," measures 9,600 Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs).

Busan Port Authority (BPA) said that the ship belonging to the China Shipping Co. entered the Gamman Daehan Shipping Terminal in Busan on the night of June 27 and departed for Ningbo the following day.

The vessel, operating on the China-Busan-China-Europe route, processed a total of 2,350 containers in Busan Port, and went back to Shanghai Port. It is then scheduled to visit Hamburg, Germany, and Rotterdam, Holland.

Samsung Heavy Industry built this ship and turned it over to China Shipping recently. It has a length of 321 meters, a width of 46 meters, a height of 62 meters and a weight of 108,000 tons. It can carry 9,600 20-foot containers, 1.3 million 29-inch color TVs or 50 million mobile phones.

Before the arrival of the "Xin Los Angeles," the largest container ship to visit Busan was the MSC Pamela at 9,200 TEUs last July.
