The Agricultural Technology Center of Busan Metropolitan City announced that the cosmos and sunflowers located on a 160,000 ㎡ area in the Daejeo Ecological Park in Gangseo-gu have come into bloom.
The Agricultural Technology Center of Busan Metropolitan City planted cosmos and sunflowers in the area of the previous Yuchae flowerbeds on May 20, 2014, after the 3rd Busan Nakdong Riverside Yuchae Flower Festival. Regular cosmos and yellow cosmos flowers take up most of the site (140,000 ㎡) while sunflowers can be found on a smaller section (20,000 ㎡). It is hoped that the new flowerbeds will start attracting people to the park early to enjoy the coming fall season.
The sunflowers and cosmos flowerbeds have been quite popular as the site has been frequented often by groups of kindergarten children and photographers.
