The 9th Busan International Kids’ Film Festival (BIKI) will be held July 23-27 at the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae, the Busan Community Media Center and the Design Center Busan. The Festival is hosted and organized by the Busan Int’l Kids’ Film Festival Organizing Committee and supported by Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan City Board of Education.
This year’s film festival is titled “Your Dreams on the Shelf” and will showcase movies based on children’s books and stories. Screened movies include 20 films in the “Ready Action” category (movies made by children), about 20 films in the big narae moeum (full length films that have been invited) category and roughly 30 films in the small narae moeum (invited short films) category.
Major films that will be screened include “Fiddlesticks” and “Killa (The Fort).” “Fiddlesticks” is a children’s adventure film that was shown at the Cannes International Film Festival’s Marche du Film category. “Killa (The Fort)” won the Crystal Bear at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival.
It is a story about a boy named Chinu who moves to the countryside with his mother after the death of his father.
The opening film will be ‘Killa (The Fort)’ and the closing film will be ‘All Alone’.
