Department stores in the city are closed for two days during the upcoming Lunar New Year holidays, discount stores are closed only on the New Year's Day, shopping malls are open throughout the holidays, while traditional markets have three to four days off.


According to industry sources Tuesday, Lotte Department Store and Hyundai Department Store are closed on January 22 and 23, but their business hours before the holidays will be extended by 30 minutes daily. Lotte plans to open until 8:30 in the evening from January 13 to 20 and Hyundai is also going to open until 8:30 from January 16 to 20.


Discount stores like E-mart, Aram Mart, Homeplus and Lotte Mart are closed for one day, or on New Year's Day. Aram Mart's Super Super Market (SSM) is closed on January 22 and 23.
