Haeundae beach to open July 1

The Haeundae District Office is busy nowadays to get ready for the beach-goers. The office announced Monday that it has decided to open the Haeundae beach to the public on the first day of July.

The office added that sunshade rentals at the beach would be made available at 2,000 won, down 3,000 from last year's. Still, fans of the Songjung beach will have to pay a higher rental fee of 5,000 this year as the municipal office kept the rate unchanged at the Songjung beach. A reduction might be made next year depending on the outcome of the rival Haeundae beach.

Meanwhile, the Office also designated a "sunshade-less area" in order to offer an unencumbered ocean view and to make an open space for various cultural events.
