Praxair, an American based multi-national company operating in over 30 Countries with a staff of 27,000 and with sales of $9 billion (USD) in 2009, signed an MOU on May 3rd, 2010 with the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (BJFEZ), with the intention to build a 33,000 m2 facility valued at $40 million (USD) in the Mieum Parts & Materials Industrial Park, with completion slated for 2013.
Praxair’s business is in atmospheric, process and specialty gases, high performance coatings and related services as well as technology supplied to a diverse range of industrial clientele ranging from shipbuilding and semi-conductors to the steel industry.
An official of the BJFEZ said, “We believe that the signing of this MOU with Praxair will lead to the attraction of more investment by foreign companies to the Foreign Investment Zone of Mieum Industrial Complex. The plan is to complete the attraction of foreign investment to this area by next year.”
