Busan City has another sister: Casablanca in Morocco.
Busan and Casablanca cities signed the agreement on April 26, bringing the total number of Busan’s sister cities to 24. Casablanca is Morocco’s largest port city and its economic capital.
In reaching the deal, Hur Nam-sik and Mohamed Sajid, respectively the mayors of Busan City and Casablanca, agreed to cooperate on economic matters, culture, tourism, sports and civil exchange, while also promising to work together on the co-development of both cities.
“We plan to share our know-how in port logistics knowledge, which is the great strength of the two cities, and find new paths for Busan company products in Africa,” said Hur. “We will use this opportunity to advance into the African market through this sisterhood relationship.”
