Busan Port Lighting Festival(Nov. 8-17, Songdo Beach)
Busan Port Lighting Festival will be held from Nov. 8-17 at Songdo Beach.
Splendid colors will light the autumn skies of Songdo Beach and the city of Busan to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the opening of Songdo Beach. The Busan Port Lighting Festival will be held Nov. 8-17 in the Songdo Beach area. This marks its fourth year, and the theme is “1,000 Years of Light - 100 Years Full of Memories, a Millennia of Songdo, Full of Happiness.”
At the festival, visitors will be able to see artworks created with the theme of light. At the Luminarie Light Plaza, there will be tens of thousands of splendid light bulbs gleaming.
At the exhibition hall and beach of Songdo Beach, there will be a special exhibition of artists who use light as the subject of their work. This year, a sculpture work that celebrates the centennial of Songdo Beach will be displayed, along with an ocean light dome in the shape of water drops that symbolizes 1,000 years of light. A lighting system will be installed at the flower garden of the beach, which will be on display until early January.
Visitor experience programs will include riding an air balloon covered in myriad colorful lights, glow-in-the-dark face painting, drawing pictures and other programs for families.
An event where one can make a wish upon a wish light on a tree will also be held. Starting with the opening ceremony on Nov. 8, there will be a pop concert, media art show, jazz night, party and other special events.
