Busan City bus tours are continuing to grow in popularity, as this year the total number of passengers surpassed 200,000 for the first time since the tours started operations in 2004.
The Busan Tourism Organization held the commemoration ceremony to mark the 200,000th passenger on November 1 in the square in front of Busan Station.
Over the years, the look of the Busan City tour buses has continued to change, moving to a double-deck bus in 2006 and then to a roofless double-deck bus in 2010. Tour routes have also steadily improved, offering tourists a wonderful opportunity to see the city. Tour organizers believe these changes have contributed greatly to the growing interest in the bus tours and hope to see the trend continue.
Currently, a total of 11 city tour buses including five regular limousine buses, four double-deck buses and two roofless double-deck buses are in operation.
The bus fare is 10,000 won for adults and 5,000 won for children and youths.
City tour routes include a scenic tour from Haeundae to Taejongdae and four separate themed tours including courses exploring Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, the natural environment of Eulsukdo, the rich history and culture of local areas as well as amazing city nightscapes.
Tourist information can be found on screens located on the back of each seat and audio guidance is provided in three foreign languages including English, Japanese and Chinese.
