The Busan Foundation for International Activities (BFIA) operates the World Cultural Class for Busan citizens to give them an opportunity to experience various cultures from around the world and understand foreign languages.

The program aims to increase cultural exchanges between the citizens of Busan and foreign residents to help all involved understand more about different multicultural societies.

The first session of the World Cultural Class will be operated from March 9 - May 2 for eight weeks. A total of 11 classes focusing on the cultures of Turkey, Mexico, Russia, China, Moroco, Brazil, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Japan and Malaysia will be held and touch on such topics as the history, food, and language (alphabet and basic greetings) of each country and be operated for two hours once a week.  All classes are designed for beginners and offered in Korean and English by Busan-based foreign lecturers.

Previously, a World Language Class focused on language was offered. From this year, however, the class will be extended and will focus on world culture as well as language.

Any Busan resident who is 19 years of age or older is eligible to apply for the class through the BFIA website at http://www.bfia.or.kr. The application deadline is March 3, 2015.
