BEXCO reaches new heights as an exhibition and convention hub in Asia, with more than 1,000 events

BEXCO Exhibition and Convention Center in Haeundae has reached new heights as a leading host venue for international exhibitions and conventions in Asia. With a total of 1,056 events including 101 exhibitions, 815 meetings and 140 other events leading to the attendance of some 4.12 million people last year, it is the first time that the facility has hosted more than 100 exhibitions in a single year. The number of events hosted by BEXCO has increased remarkably after the expansion of its facilities, with the opening a new building in June, 2012.

 

BEXCO hosted 88 international conventions, including the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference, ASEAN-Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit, Kyani Asia Regional Convention, and Busan Global Water Forum, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the Busan economy and the enhancement of Busan's and the entire nation's brand image. Most notably at the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference, a total of 600,000 visitors including government representatives from 170 nations attended the event and this contributed some 700 billion won to the economy.
