The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MOFAT) unveiled the official emblem for the 2005 Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Busan.
The emblem is based on the concept of ``APEC; Prosperous, One Community.’’ This emblem embodies Korea's traditional Tri-Taeguk mark, which represents the unity and harmony of heaven, earth and man, the ministry said.
The port city of Busan, the venue for the APEC 2005, is represented as a powerful wave in the emblem, which is captured in the image of the Pacific Ocean encircled by APEC member economies.
The official emblem will be used in a broad range of applications including PR materials, souvenirs, commemorative coins and stamps, and street banners.
