Haeundae, Songjeong, Gwangalli, and Songdo beaches will officially open on June 1st through
September 10th. Three other beaches - Ilgwang, Imnang, and Dadaepo beaches - with their lower seawater temperatures, will be officially open for swimming from July 1 through August 31.

Busan City is working on final arrangements for the opening of the beaches, expanding convenience facilities like public restrooms, showers, and changing rooms, as well as training staff responsible for the safety of swimmers and beach visitors.

Cultural and art performances and various other programs taking place around the beaches will attract more people to the beach. From this year, beach-goers need to be aware that all seven beaches in Busan are designated as no-smoking zones. Smokers at the beaches will be fined 20,000 won.
Visitors to Haeundae Beach will be using a “smart beach system” to rent beach gear.  Please read about the “smart beach system” on our previous news article at

Busan Fire Department's emergency rescue team, consisting of emergency water rescue workers and volunteers, will be working hard to keep visitors safe.
