English Broadcasting Station (e-FM) will air show nightly at 9
Busan English Broadcasting will start its Chinese language program on October 28.
It will soon be possible to listen to a Chinese language broadcast one hour per day in Busan.
Busan English Broadcasting Station will start the first Chinese language broadcast at 9 p.m. on October 28 on FM 90.5MHz. This comes after the resolution by the Korea Communications Standards Commission in July to allow multi-language broadcasting.
The Chinese broadcast will be an educational program and include regional news, living information and news about China. The broadcast will reach out to the 25,000 Chinese nationals living in Busan and the Gyeongnam area.
Busan English Broadcasting has completed the hiring process of staff members who will be in charge of the Chinese program. The producer is Jang Lili, who has been living in Busan for a few years and the DJ will be Wang Kwan. The program will be called “Fushan Huayu Zhiyin” or “Busan’s Chinese friend.”
Director Yu Jeong-im of Busan English Broadcasting said, “We will do our best to provide diverse living information to Chinese nationals living in Busan and also to Chinese tourists. Moreover, we believe the program will help students who are studying Chinese.”
