Throughout the summer, festivals and other unique attractions for beach-goers to see and enjoy will be taking place around the beaches of Busan, once the official opening of the beaches takes place on June 1.
Haeundae Sand Festival, the only festival of its kind in the country, will be held at Haeundae Beach from June 1 through June 4. A variety of events, including popular events such as a sand surfing festival where you can enjoy the thrill and excitement of surfing down a 10-meter high sand hill, and the 'Challenge! I am also a sand artist' event, as well as a sand exploration center, sand market and marine sports experience area, are planned.

Busan Sea Festival kicks off for 9 days, from August 1, at Haeundae and five other beaches in Busan. Exciting and fun summer events - a Hallyu Star concert, a bikini contest, a marine sports experience and other activities will be taking place at the beaches.

Beach wrestling, soccer and fin swimming competitions will be held at Songdo Beach and various cultural art performances including jazz, hip hop, magic and marionette performances will take place on Gwangalli Beach, while there will also be an outdoor swimming pool and water activities in Dadaepo beach. Shell gathering and dragnet fishing in Ilgwang and Imnang beaches are scheduled to take place as well.
