A dedicated cruise terminal will be established in November at Busan Port. Busan Port Authority (BPA) said that it has finalized planning framework and design of cruise terminal project and the construction will be commenced in this month.

With injecting about USD 5.2 million into the project, the cruise terminal will accommodate many infrastructure and facilities such as souvenir shops, immigration office, restaurants, etc.

The construction will be completed in November this year expecting to make significant contribution to the vitalization of cruise industry.

So far, world leading cruise vessels have called at Busan Port after APEC 2005 Korea but Busan Port has faced difficulties to provide comport and convenience for passengers because of the absence of dedicated cruise terminal.

38 cruise vessels are expected to call at Busan Port by the end of this year. Jin Young, Jeong, a director of North Port Construction Team said BPA would endeavor to give a lift to Busan Port by expanding port facilities for cruise passengers and by making the cruise terminal a prestigious landmark at Busan Port.
