Marine Sports comes to residents. Marine Sports such as yachting, water skiing, and so on will open various low-cost beginners’ courses. Busan Yacht Association will extend their “Weekend Yacht School” to weekdays and operate during the weekdays starting July 27th and they will also open a “Junior Yacht School” for elementary school children beginning July 20th. The moderate expense is a good point of the yacht schools by Busan Yacht Association.
The Beginners course takes 16-hour of lessons over four days and costs 50,000 won. You will learn the names of each part of a yacht and the principles of how yachts operate on the first day and on the second day you will sail on the yacht, to practice, on the third day of the marine training you will run a triangle course and running course, while on the last day participants can try the regular race course. Busan Yacht Association will put 20 to 30 yachts per round in the yacht school programs and 7 to 8 instructors are teaching. Recently many people from the Seoul area have come to Busan by high-speed railway to take part in the weekend yacht school.
The Junior Yacht School that has been carried out since 1993 is very popular also. The yacht school is for three days and has various programs like yacht skills lessons, water sledding and so on. Busan Yacht Association lends racing yachts to people who are of a professional level to sail them for 30,000 won a day.
If you think yachting is too hard to learn, then you can enjoy water sleds or water motorbikes. The Korea Water Sports Association will hold “2004 Water Sports Lesson for Citizens” from July 3 to help people learn more about water sports. The beginners’ course is composed of a one day course which has water bikes, water sleds, motor boats, fly fishing and so forth, and a two-day course which has wind-surfing, water skiing, sports diving, wake boards, and so on. They are supported by Busan city budget so
you can take the lessons for only 20,000 won.
If you would like to watch professionals’ skills, there is a National Yacht Competition at the Yacht Center in Suyeongman from July 1st. 209 players from 173 teams across the nation will participate and match their skills in this competition.
