'BIMOS 2008' scheduled to be held in May 2-12
Busan International Motor Show 2008 or BIMOS 2008 will raise its curtain at BEXCO in Haeundae in May 2-12. Various concept cars produced by global automakers will make their debuts during the auto fair, but attracting the most attention will be Porsche, often called the world's best super car, which will make its appearance before the domestic car fanatics for the first time.

The participants include seven domestic manufacturers of finished cars, such as Hyundai, Kia, Renault-Samsung and Ssangyong, as well as 17 foreign competitors, including BMW, Audi, GM, Ford and Mercedes- Benz. What sets BIMOS 2008 apart from other motor shows is the participation by a number of premium-class imported vehicles. During the 11-day show, the city plans to organize a Korea-Japan-China seminar to discuss measures to develop the auto industry, while holding frequent business confabs for the exports and purchase of auto parts to enhance the motor show's economic effect. It will also invite a number of big-name foreign buyers to positively help the local auto parts industry to develop overseas marketing channels.
Also in store are various autorelated events. Among them are a car audio festival, remote-controlled car race, children's auto sketch contest and a lottery for giveaways. Visitors will also be able to take part in a variety of experience-it-yourself events.
With the opening of the motor show just a month away, the city is stepping up detailed preparations, by communicating with participating auto and parts makers as well as major buyers.
