Enjoy Yachting Races in Busan

To promote Busan as a marine city, some major yacht races are being held in Haeundae, Busan between July 22 and July 25. Busan Yachting Association will then hold various free events at the Yachting Center from July 27 until 29 to promote interest in marine sports among the general public.

 

The 16th Busan-Fukuoka-Shanghai Junior Yacht Race will be held from July 22-24 and the 5th Busan Cup Cruiser Yacht Race will be held from July 24-25.

 

The Busan-Fukuoka-Shanghai Junior Yacht Race is held every year, with the venue for the event being rotated among the three cities. This year, about 150 international sailors under the age of 16 will participate in the  Optimist Race, which is one of the official events of the Asian Games.

The number of participants in the Busan Cup Cruiser Yacht Race is increasing year on year, attracting nationwide interest, and making it the biggest cruiser yacht race in Korea. About 400 competitors will race this year for a cash prize of 23 million won.
