The Busan Regional Meteorological Administration predicted yellow dust storms will be both more frequent and more severe this year than usual, and advised people to wear masks when they go out during the yellow dust season from March to April.

▶ When the yellow dust storms occur, you should:

  - keep windows and doors closed.

- wear protective glasses, masks and long-sleeved clothes when going out.

- wash your hands and brush your teeth when returning home.

- avoid outdoor activities – this applies especially to the elderly and those with respiratory diseases.

▶Schools and educational institutes should consider closing or rescheduling their classes depending on the regional situation. Outdoor activities for kindergarten and elementary school students are prohibited.

▶Farmers should be prepared to move livestock indoors from open pasture. They also need to check that relevant equipment for washing off yellow dust, such as power sprays, are in working order.
