Busan City Mayor, Hur Nam-sik visited the IOC headquarters in Lausanne and met with the IOC Director of International Cooperation and Development, Tommy Sithole; the IOC Sports Director, Christophe Dubi; and the IOC President, Jacques Rogge respectively on February 19, 2008. Mayor Hur asked for the IOC’s active support for the successful hosting of the 6th World Forum on Sport, Education and Culture, and the 4th Busan TAFISA World Sport For All Games.

Hur explained Busan's preparations for the event and handed an invitation to the IOC President, Jacques Rogge requesting his participation at the two events in Busan.

The IOC expressed their satisfaction with the international conference facilities in Busan, with the president, Jacques Rogge, saying that he anticipates Busan will continue to strengthen its reputation as an international sports city and the IOC will actively support its development.

For the success of the event, the IOC encouraged Busan City to support the participation of developing countries and to send the preparatory committee to the 4th IOC World Conference on Women and Sport, which will take place from 8-10 March 2008 in Jordan, in order to benchmark the event. As the event before the IOC Congress in 2009, the 4th IOC World Conference on Women and Sport is very important.

The forum which will be held during the TAFISA World Sport For All Games is a large scale event. Therefore, the IOC will continue to hold discussions with Busan City about accommodation and flights, and will send their staff to check the preparation for the events and the hotel accommodations at the end of March.
