The newly expanded Noksan Bridge No. 1 opened to traffic on August 1

Busan City announced that the expansion of Noksan Bridge No. 1 (expanding the bridge's width from 17.5m to 35m, that is, from 4 lanes to 8 lanes) located at Seongsan Intersection, Noksan-dong, Gangseo-gu and the surrounding road repair works were completed in time for the opening of the bridge to traffic on August 1, at 6 a.m.

  

The City started construction in December 2008 with a total investment of 75 billion won and construction took 1 year and 7 months to complete.

 

A city official said, "Noksan Bridge No. 1 connects Busan New Port to the West Busan area via the Noksan Industrial Complex. We expect that the opening of the expanded bridge will help to enhance the distribution of traffic and to relieve traffic congestion during rush hours.
