The 4th Korean Essay (Writing) Contest

Busan Foundation for International Activities (BFIA) and Pusan University of Foreign Studies (PUFS) is holding the 4th Korean Essay Contest in order to promote understanding of Hangul and to motivate foreigners here studying Korean. We look forward to your participation in this event.

01. Overview

 ž Date & Time: October 6, 2011, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  
 ž Venue: Grand Auditorium at Busan City Hall
  
 ž Contest Divisions: Essay & Poetry
    ž  Topic will be announced on the contest day.
    ž The contest is brought to you by Busan Foundation for International Activities (BFIA) and Pusan University of Foreign Studies (PUFS)

02. Awards

 ž First Place (2 winners): A certificate and 1,000,000KW
   
ž Second Place (2 winners): A certificate and 500,000KW
   
ž Third Place (2 winners): A certificate and 300,000KW
   
ž Special Award (2 winners): A certificate and 200,000KW

Special Awards will be presented to two participants whose Korean skills are seen to have improved significantly over the previous two consecutive years, as evidenced by their submissions at the 2010 and 2011 Essay Contests.

03. Application

 ž Period: September 5 ~ September 30, 2011
   
ž Qualification
     
- Any foreign nationals residing in Busan.
     
* No limitation on the leng th of stay in Korea.

ž Fill it out and submit it via email, fax or by visiting the BFIA office.

04. Participants Perks

 

All entries will be corrected by Korean teachers and sent back to participants by email or post.

Busan Global Center will keep all entries for two consecutive years for consideration for the special award.

Participants will have a chance to attend forthcoming events being hosted by the Busan Global Center.
