Marriage migrants in Busan now able to correspond with families more cheaply

Starting from August 1, marriage migrants will be able to get 10 percent off Express Mail Service (EMS) fees.

 

To support marriage migrants’ desire to correspond with their families and friends in their home countries more often, Busan City and post offices in Busan signed an agreement offering marriage migrants discounts on international express mail.  

 

To benefit from the 10% discount on EMS at all post offices located in Busan, marriage migrants need to present an official piece of identification such as their alien registration card, resident registration certificate or family relation certificate.

 

Meanwhile, the number of Busan-based marriage migrants has steadily increased since 2007 and reached 9,156 as of January 2011.
