Starting in May, free movie screenings and music concerts will be held at the outdoor theater at the Busan Cinema Center for the enjoyment of all.

Free Outdoor Movie Screenings at Busan Cinema Center

Starting in the summer of 2012, the outdoor theater at Busan Cinema Center has been packed for free outdoor movie screenings. We invite all of you again this year to enjoy a special evening at the Busan Cinema Center.

The outdoor theater, where the opening and closing ceremonies of the Busan International Film Festival are held, has 4,000 seats under the giant roof which has become the symbol of the Busan Cinema Center.

The event attracted a total of 20,000 moviegoers in 2012 but saw its popularity nearly double in 2013 drawing nearly 40,000 visitors over the five month period. With an even greater variety of films being offered this year, organizers expect the event to continue to grow in popularity.

In order to coordinate with the city’s newly launched Culture Day, which falls on the last Wednesday of each month, the outdoor movie screenings have moved from Tuesday to Wednesday. This should provide residents and tourists alike with more opportunities to enjoy a wide range of great films.

The schedule of the movie screenings are:

May 14: The Snow Queen
May 28: Delicacy
June 11: I Love You
June 18: Midnight in Paris
June 25: The Miracle of Bern
July 2: Untouchable
July 16: Mamma Mia

July 30: Miracle in Cell No.7
August 13: Black
August 20: The Kid with a Bike
September 3: French Cancan
September 10: 3 Idiots
September 17: The Umbrellas of Cherbourg
